Adding to the list of reasons why the Electoral College is vital for the well-being of our country, the state of California will be funding the sex change operation of a convicted murderer, Fox News reports.
Fox writes that Terry Thornton, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections, “said the 8th Amendment provides for medically necessary treatment for inmates.”
Here’s what the 8th Amendment to the United States Constitution says:
“Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.”
There is no language appearing in the 8th Amendment that pertains to “medically necessary treatment for inmates”; in fact, there is no language whatsoever pertaining to medical treatment of inmates, whether necessary or not.
Even if the 8th Amendment offered a guideline for medically necessary treatment for inmates, this procedure absolutely would not fit that criteria. This person is a convicted murderer and currently serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. How could anyone in their right mind argue that this is medically necessary?
This move sets a terrifying precedent: if a convicted murderer that is serving a life sentence can receive a “medically necessary” taxpayer-funded sex change operation, who can’t? Hillary Clinton campaigned for unlimited taxpayer-funded abortions, and now we are beginning along the path to unlimited taxpayer-funded sex change operations.
Kudos to California for wanting to be the first state to normalize the mental health issues of a convicted murderer.
